Photo a Day

So while reading over at Shanni's blog, I found Photojojo - Project 365 . What a great idea! Post at least a photo a day to help tell the story of what you did that day. I'm going to try really hard to keep up with it. Since today wasn't a great day for me, I'm officially starting tomorrow, the 4th of July! This should be interesting!

*Update* - How full of crap am I? A lot of things have changed in my life since this post - I'm officially working as a Registered Nurse on my own, and I've moved out on my own - living the "grown up" life! Today is Halloween, which also means it's the end of October - the beginning of a new month. Time to start making some changes in my life....

Tired

I've had a very busy 3 days off of work. Luckily I only go back tomorrow night and have another 2 nights off - hopefully tonight and tomorrow I can catch up on a little sleep. Working the night shift is not easy. I prefer it, of course, over the day shift - but mostly because I wouldn't work during the day with the people at my work for all the money in the world. Now, that might sound rude of me, but you have to understand - working in a labor & delivery unit with a bunch of women is hard enough without throwing a bunch of over-the-top chatty & perky women into the mix - it just doesn't work for me!

I did have a good 3 days off, though. I seemed to fit plenty of things in - going to the salt river (which mind you, I was dreading because I hate the dirty river. But it actually turned out to be pretty fun), having a BBQ at my friend Jens, and meeting some friends out for drinks last night. It was good to see friends from Nursing School, but also a little bit awkward - there's not much for us to talk about now that all of the stress is gone. No complaining about tests or studying, nothing. Just a quick update on where we're all working, and that's that.

A couple of my friends from high school were also there, so that is always fun. It was a very good time, but I need to start learning to take cabs out to the places I go. Not that I drink a lot, but it always seems like time catches up with you so fast. All of a sudden it's 2am and I've just finished a beer - not really a great time to drive home. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely responsible - but it would just be good to get into the habit of taking a taxi.

This picture is of an old friend Mike and I - the further into the night it gets, the harder and harder it is to take decent pictures! We took at least 4 - and this is actually probably the one that came out the best... go figure.

This week I work Monday, Thursday, Friday. It'll be nice to only have to work one night and have 2 off, although I do like doing the 3 in a row just to get it over with. Since it's a holiday, I don't get to work with my normal preceptor, Jen on Thursday or Friday. When you're training you don't get to work the holidays because of the extra $ - darn... ;) I'm glad to have the 4th off though, it should be fun!

Off to take a nap. Going to see Knocked Up tonight - I've been wanting to see it for so long!
